Primavera Sound Barcelona has sold out two years running. If you miss the 8–9 October sale, or the price is too much, these eight festivals run within five weeks of it, most with 2027 dates already confirmed.
It doesn't usually go in minutes. In 2026, full-festival and Thursday-to-Saturday day tickets were gone by February, four months before the festival, and that was the second sell-out in a row. The price climbs as it goes: €295 in the 8 October fan sale, €350 in the 9 October general sale.
So the real choice is less "panic on sale day" and more "commit now, or plan something else". If you're not sure yet, the list below gives you a June or July trip with the same feel. Full sale details are on our Primavera Sound 2027 tickets guide.
Same organisers, a line-up that usually overlaps Barcelona's, and a park by the sea one week later. It's smaller and calmer, accommodation is cheaper, and there's almost no aftershow scene. Full-festival early-bird tickets are €170, about half the Barcelona general-sale price.
Barcelona's other big June festival, two weeks after Primavera. If the electronic side of the Primavera bill (Chemical Brothers, Four Tet, Prospa) is what you're going for, Sónar is the better trip. The 2027 presale has closed; the general sale hasn't opened yet.
The same seafront site, a month later, at a fraction of the price: weekend passes from €105. The line-up is broader and less indie (2026 had David Byrne, Garbage and Pixies), and the 2027 bill isn't out yet.
The Dutch festival closest to Primavera's taste: indie, alternative and electronic on a lakeside site, with camping. Its 2026 weekend tickets sold out too, so don't treat it as the easy option.
Eight days, non-profit, 30 minutes from Copenhagen. The first 2027 names are already out: Tame Impala, Kacey Musgraves and Caroline Polachek, who's also on the Primavera bill.
Lisbon's waterfront festival, with Tame Impala already confirmed. Big headliners, an easy train from central Lisbon, and Portuguese prices for everything around it.
A hilltop site above Bilbao with a strong indie and alternative line-up. Cooler weather than the Mediterranean, and a city that's worth the trip on its own. The 2027 line-up hasn't been announced.
Madrid's biggest international festival: four days of headline acts, under three hours from Barcelona by high-speed train. It has held the second week of July for years, but 2027 dates aren't confirmed, so don't book travel yet.

Probably. Primavera Sound Barcelona sold out in 2025 and again in 2026, when full-festival and day tickets for Thursday to Saturday were gone by February, four months before the festival. The 2027 fan sale opens on 8 October 2026 and the general sale on 9 October.
Primavera Sound Porto, run by the same organisers, on 10–13 June 2027 at Parque da Cidade do Porto. Its line-up usually overlaps Barcelona's, it is smaller and calmer, and a full-festival early-bird ticket is €170.
Sónar runs 17–19 June 2027 and Festival Cruïlla runs 7–10 July 2027 at Parc del Fòrum, the same site as Primavera Sound.
Use Primavera Sound's own channels only. The festival has run an official waiting list after past sell-outs. Avoid unofficial resellers: tickets are sold through the festival's own platform.
