Europe's house circuit is the deepest of any electronic genre

Festival Networks tracks over 115 festivals across Europe with house somewhere in their programming, more than any other electronic sub-genre we track — techno and trance both sit well behind it. That makes house the hardest genre to shortlist honestly, so this guide picks ten events that each do something distinct: a label's own boutique event, an independent week-long institution, a carnival brand, an underground-serious weekend, and three genuinely new additions for 2026.

Two of the ten — Defected Croatia and Love International — run in the same town, Tisno, on the same Adriatic coastline, in the same month. They are not the same event. Defected is the label's own curated boutique festival; Love International is an independently run, cult-status institution with a week-long format. Both are boat-party, sunset-set Croatia house at its best, and their 2026 dates don't overlap, so a longer Croatian house trip combining both is genuinely possible.

The other story here is Suncebeat. After 14 years in Tisno, the organisers signalled 2023 could be their last Croatian edition, then took 2024 off entirely while deciding what came next. What came next is Suncebeat New Horizons — the same soulful house and disco ethos, relocated to Costa da Caparica near Lisbon, with a 2026 lineup built around house and soul heritage names: Chez Damier, Kenny Dope, Ron Trent, Louie Vega, DJ Spen. If you knew the old Croatia listing, this is where it went.

Defected Croatia
Tisno, Dalmatia · 29 Jul–2 Aug 2026

Defected Records' own boutique house festival on the Adriatic, now a fixture of the European house calendar. Five days, 5,000 people, the label's roster across boat parties and sunset sets on the Tisno waterfront — Sam Divine, Horse Meat Disco, Gorgon City among the names associated with the brand. At €245 it's not cheap, but it's Defected's own curation rather than a licensed spinoff, which matters if you follow the label. Zadar airport is the gateway, with Šibenik the nearest station before a transfer to Tisno.

Love International
Tisno, Dalmatia · 8–14 July 2026

Independently run, week-long, and cult status in the European house world. Love International shares Tisno's Adriatic coastline with Defected Croatia but is a separate event with its own identity — seven days rather than five, 7,000 capacity, and a reputation built on sunset sets and boat parties that regulars return to year after year. At €295 it's the most expensive event in this guide, reflecting the week-long format. Zadar is the airport; Šibenik the nearest station.

House / Techno / Disco · London, UK · August
Elrow Town
London · August 2026

Barcelona's colour-and-confetti party brand transplanted into a 20,000-capacity London day festival. Elrow Town is house, techno and disco delivered as spectacle — costumes, production, non-stop energy rather than curatorial austerity. At €85 it's accessible, and Heathrow puts it within reach of most European travellers as a single-day trip into London. If Defected and Love International are the serious end of European house, Elrow is the deliberately maximalist other end.

DGTL Amsterdam
NDSM Wharf, Amsterdam · 3–5 April 2026

An Easter-weekend festival at Amsterdam's NDSM Wharf that leans techno but runs a substantial house programme alongside it, with sustainability and art built into the production rather than bolted on. 40,000 capacity over the weekend, €125. Amsterdam's excellent transit network puts DGTL within easy reach without a car — Amsterdam Centraal to NDSM is a short ferry and tram ride.

Turin Porta Nuova and Turin airport are both well connected to the site, making this one of the more straightforward city-adjacent options on this list.

Dekmantel
Bosbaan, Amsterdam · 30 Jul–2 Aug 2026

Amsterdam's most respected underground electronic festival, at the Bosbaan rowing course on the edge of the Amsterdamse Bos. Dekmantel's house and techno programming is built on curatorial reputation rather than headline names — 35,000 capacity, €175, no camping since the city is the base. Amsterdam's transit connects the venue easily from Centraal.

Suncebeat New Horizons
Costa da Caparica, Lisbon · 18–22 June 2026

The Lisbon relocation of the long-running Suncebeat brand, which spent 14 years in Tisno, Croatia before signalling 2023 as a likely last Croatian edition and sitting out 2024 while deciding what came next. New Horizons keeps the soulful house, disco and Afro-house ethos — day parties at Praia Irmão, boat parties and afterparties on the Costa da Caparica coast — with a 2026 lineup built around heritage house names including Chez Damier, Kenny Dope, Ron Trent, Louie Vega and DJ Spen. House / Trance / EDM · Le Touquet, France · August · New for 2026
Touquet Music Beach Festival
Le Touquet-Paris-Plage · 28–29 August 2026

A house/trance crossover on the beach at Le Touquet-Paris-Plage on France's Channel coast, with on-site camping — unusual for a house-leaning event in this guide. The 2026 bill pairs Peggy Gou with Armin van Buuren, a genuine meeting point between the two genres rather than a token gesture toward each. Pricing wasn't published at the time of writing; check the official site before booking travel.

How to plan a house music summer

The Croatia question

Tisno is the closest thing European house music has to a spiritual home, and 2026 makes that obvious: Defected Croatia and Love International both run there in July on overlapping coastline but non-overlapping dates. Defected (29 Jul–2 Aug) is the label's own curated boutique event; Love International (8–14 Jul) is the independent, week-long institution with cult status. Because the dates don't clash, a longer Croatian house trip covering both is a real possibility for anyone building a summer around this genre.

What happened to the old Suncebeat

If you've followed European house festivals for a while, you may know Suncebeat as a Tisno fixture. It isn't anymore. After 14 years on that coastline, 2023 was flagged by the organisers as potentially the last Croatian edition, and 2024 passed with no event while the team decided what came next. Suncebeat New Horizons in Costa da Caparica, near Lisbon, is that answer — same soulful house and disco identity, new country, new lineup built around heritage names. Anyone still searching for "Suncebeat Croatia" should redirect to this listing.

Where the newest festivals sit

Three of the ten festivals in this guide are new additions for 2026: Polifonic (Puglia), Brunch Electronik Festival (Barcelona) and Touquet Music Beach Festival (Le Touquet). None displace the established names — they fill genuine gaps in country coverage (Italy's south, France's Channel coast) and price point (Polifonic and Brunch Electronik are two of the three cheapest events in this guide).

Boutique vs. big-room

This guide runs from 5,000-capacity boutique events (Defected Croatia) to 40,000-capacity city festivals (DGTL Amsterdam, Kappa FuturFestival). Both ends are legitimate house experiences, but the trade-off is real: boutique events like Defected and Love International sell an atmosphere that scale erodes, while the bigger events like Dekmantel and Kappa trade intimacy for production budgets that most boutique festivals simply can't match. Decide which trade-off matters more to you before booking.

Practical notes

Ibiza is not on this list deliberately — Opening and Closing Weekends are sold per-venue rather than as a single festival pass, and belong in a dedicated Ibiza guide rather than diluting this one. If house music in Ibiza specifically is what you're after, ask the concierge and it will point you to the right venue dates.

Pricing gaps: Outback Festival-style situations exist here too — Touquet Music Beach hadn't published ticket prices at the time of writing. Where a card says "Price TBC," check the official site before you commit to travel dates.
